Rlc. Pink Empress x Cattleya intermedia ‚blau‘
Pollinated in December 2016 and the seed capsule sent to the lab for green
sowing five months later, I received 14 flasks back in mid-2018. I sold most
of them to a nursery in Korea.
The remaining seedlings not only had to contend with the hot climate, but also
with my lack of experience in growing Cattleya.
So it took a full six years for the first plant to flower. The Korean nursery was,
as usual, much faster; a controlled, temperate environment (greenhouse) is
always an advantage.
But the result is worth the long wait, I think.
